A Moorcroft pin dish in the Cluny design © 1992 by Sally Tuffin.
The 'Flag' symbol on the base is the 'year cypher' for 1995 showing this as the year of production.
The pin dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or glaze crazing.
Sally Tuffin was already a recognised designer when she joined Moorcroft in 1986 and took over full responsibility for design following the retirement of Walter Moorcroft in 1987. She was in fact only the third designer, after William and Walter Moorcroft, since the company began.
Sally Tuffin designs are now very collectable.
It is understood the Cluny design was inspired by medieval tapestry and was one of the designs from 1992 which were based on landscape themes.
This item is available online only however if visiting the Antiques Centre please visit Cabinet 138 situated on the Lower Ground Floor to view a selection of Moorcroft pottery from early vintage pieces to more modern examples.
