A vintage Moorcroft ginger jar in the Magnolia pattern by Walter Moorcroft, on the wine colourway – one of the rarer magnolia designs. Initially introduced in 1991 for the Australian market before its general release in 1992.
The height (to the top of the lid) is 110mm and the diameter (across the widest section of the body) 91mm.
On the base is the 'Candlestick' year cypher indicating 1992 as the year of production. The ginger jar is clearly therefore of genuine vintage age.
The ginger jar has been closely examined and assessed as in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The colours remain bright with areas of only mild age related crazing present. On the wine colourway the design makes for a very attractive item which should prove a worthy addition to many a collection of vintage Moorcroft pottery.
