A vintage Moorcroft vase in the Finches design by Sally Tuffin.

The Finches design on a blue ground was introduced in 1988.
There are impressed MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND backstamps along with the impressed 'Eye' year cypher for 1994 showing this as the actual year of production, hence a genuine vintage piece.
The vase also has the painted signature of the paintress Maggie Thompson.
Sally Tuffin was already a recognised designer when she joined Moorcroft in 1986 and took over the full responsibility for design following Walter Moorcroft's retirement in 1987. She was in fact only the third designer, after William and Walter Moorcroft, since the company began.
Sally Tuffin designs are now very collectable.
This vase is in excellent condition.
Nb One of the ways Moorcroft marked their second quality items was by a silver line on the base. A tiny line can be seen on the base of this vase and has been closely inspected with the aid of a loupe glass. It has been assessed as not an indication of second quality but is mentioned for further detail about the vase.
