A mid size vintage Moorcroft vase in the Hibiscus pattern by Walter Moorcroft.
The height is 137mm
The vase has been closely inspected and assessed as in excellent condition.
A lovely design with both red and yellow tone hibiscus flowers against a dark blue ground.
The hibiscus pattern has been one of Moorcroft's most enduring designs with a number of developments over the years. Originally drawn by Walter Moorcroft c1949 developments included changes in the early 1960's, the coral hibiscus pattern introduced in 1968 and further designs following on for some years.
Regarding the age of this vase there is a Moorcroft label on the base which partially covers the backstamps. There are two partial and very faint backstamps on the base which will be MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND. This along with their positioning indicate a date range c1949 to 1986 hence the vase is clearly of genuine vintage age.
The bright floral design on the dark blue ground makes for a very attractive item which displays really well.
The vase should prove a very worthy addition to many a collection of vintage Moorcroft pottery but additionally, its size means it may well be suitable to display as a stand alone item, perhaps in an entrance hall or reception room.
