The French Revolutionary Wars & The Treaty of Amiens Early 19th Century Pearlware Coffee Cup & Saucer/Bowl, Depicting Britannia Attended by Peace & Liberty. Circa 1802.
The Peace, or Treaty, of Amiens was signed in March 1802 by France, Britain, Spain and the Netherlands to end the war with Revolutionary France. The peace lasted for only fourteen months until the Napoleonic Wars commenced in 1803.
In very good condition without chips or other losses. Craquelure to the cup. The cup has a small raised area to the interior. It is not really visible, but can be felt and is shown in the last photo. This cannot be seen, or felt, on the exterior of the cup.
Approximate cup dimensions are 6.5 cm height, 8.8 cm length and 6.5 cm top rim diameter.
Approximate saucer/bowl dimensions are 12.8 cm diameter and 3 cm height.
Approximate total weight is 180 grams.
