This original c1921 René Lalique design glass box lid titled "Quatre flacon" is also known as “Houbigant”. "R.Lalique" is moulded into the edge of the lid.
This opalescent glass box was created as part of a limited edition presentation pack of four bottles of perfume (hence the name “four bottles”/”quatre flacon”. The presentation box itself was a silk lined and blue trimmed cardboard bottom and interior, covered by this lid, within which there were four matching perfume bottles separated by cardboard. Only the glass lid remains.
The glass lid measures 14 cm in diameter and stands 4.5 cm high.
The box lid is in very good original condition with only a few light surface scratches. There are some other marks round the inside edge to the lip of the lid, but these appear to be mould marks from the original manufacture. As stated above, the rest of what would have made up the box has not survived.
Please see photos as these form an important part of the description.
