Description

Georgian, George III, silver christening mug of plain baluster form on a pedestal foot with a monogram to the front "WH". The handle is double scrolled and acanthus leaf capped. 

Hallmarked to the underside for London 1778 by William Turton. Walter Tweedie had a similar mark, but was only registered as a spoonmaker in 1778. 

In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age.

Approximate weight is 151 grams or 4.85 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 9 cm height, 9 cm length and 6.5 cm base diameter.
