A stunning quality roman military, silvered bronzechariot terret ring / rein guide.
This piece which dates to circa 1st -2nd century AD, is in superb condition.
It would have been mounted on the chariot platform directly behind the horses and the reins of the horse would run through them to avoid them getting tangled.
Of silvered bronze,it is safe to say this would have been part of a chariot that belong to a centurian or above.
Size 6.5 CM in Height.
Norfolk early 1970s.
