A 19th Century French Tortoiseshell & Yellow Metal Pique Circular Snuff Box. The cover inlaid with a monogram within the Motto Industrie Est Plus Avantageuse Que La Richesse [Industry Is More Advantageous Than Wealth], circa 1840.

In good overall condition with loss of yellow metal inlay to the beaded border and motto. One minor chip to the cover. No losses to the inner rim. The cover loose fitting to the base, but both appear original to each other.

Approximate weight is 50 grams.

Approximate dimensions are 7.8 cm diameter and 2.1 cm height.
