A Silver Plated Box with Wood Lined Interior, the Cover with Image of the TSS Arandora Star.
Built in 1927 by Cammell Laird at Birkenhead as a twin screw steamship (TSS). She was a 1930's British cruise ship, converted to a troop ship in WW2. In 1940 she was sunk by a German U-Boat with the loss of 805 souls, mainly interned Germans & Italians. This box dates to the 1930's.
In good condition with no dents or creases to the silver plated metal. No glass damage, but some wear to the image of the ship. Some pitting to the silver plate.
Approximate weight is 260 grams.
