Date assessment:-
There are MOORCROFT, BURSLEM, ENGLAND and shape identification number backstamps on the base (all impressed) which allows a date assessment of c1916-c1918.
There is also William Moorcroft's painted signature in green.
After William Moorcroft left the James Macintyre works he set up his own factory at Cobridge on the outskirts of Burslem in 1913. This vase is therefore from the very early days of Moorcroft pottery and a genuine antique.
Condition:-
Antique items may have imperfections due to the manufacturing processes of the day, usage over many years and how an item has been stored. Small surface marks, tiny fleabites, areas of matt glaze, small idiosyncrasies, fine crazing etc etc may be present but any significant issues will always be highlighted.
This bowl has been closely inspected and assessed as in very good antique condition. In fact the only issues considered worthy of separate mention is a scratch and some minor scuffing to the upper rim, plus what seem to be a tiny dot of excess material on the side rim from the time of manufacture.
Overall, an attractive antique item to display.

An opportunity for a collector to add a genuine piece of antique Moorcroft pottery to a collection or alternatively the bowl might be considered large enough to display as a separate stand alone item, perhaps in an entrance hall or reception room.
The bowl might also be ideal for use by an interior designer looking for an antique item to complement a period setting.
