Early 19th Century Napoleon Bonaparte Battle of Marengo Uniface Medallion. This would originally have been displayed in an album, or display book. After Bertrand Andrieu.
The battle was fought on 14th June 1800 between the forces of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Austrian army near Alessandria in Piedmont, Italy. The French won the day and drove the Austrians out of Italy. This consolidated Napoleon's position in Paris, as First Consul of France.
Of patinated lead form with fine relief detail.
In very good condition with a hole for a suspension loop at the top. A slight split to the left of this hole. Wear to the reverse from where it has previously been mounted.
