A mid size vintage Moorcroft vase in the Hibiscus pattern by Walter Moorcroft.
The height is 131mm (5.15inch).
The hibiscus pattern has been one of Moorcroft's most enduring designs with a number of developments over the years. Originally drawn by Walter Moorcroft c1949 developments included changes in the early 1960's, the coral hibiscus pattern been introduced in 1968 and further designs following on for some years.
This vase has the remnants of a paper label on the base indicating the latest date the vase was made should be 1978 hence clearly of genuine vintage age.
The vase has been closely inspected and assessed as in excellent condition.
The colours on the red and yellow tone hibiscus flowers remain bright and on the dark green ground make for an attractive item which should prove a worthy addition to many a collection of vintage Moorcroft pottery.
Of course the physical size of this vase means it may be considered suitable to display as a stand alone item, perhaps in an entrance hall or reception room.
This vintage Moorcroft vase in the hibiscus design is available via an online order only. If visiting the Antiques Centre in York please view Cabinet 138, on the Lower Ground Floor, where other items of Moorcroft Pottery can be seen.
