A lovely folk art, scratch built wooden cigarette box/dispenser, made in the 19th/ early 20th century by a Mariner and carved with the names of all of the ports/places visited. Likely made whilst on service during the sailor's down time. The dispenser mechanism works and ejects the cigarettes from the slot in the front
