Description

Only suitable for sale within the UK, due to the ivory content in the teapot handle heat spacers. This item has been registered for exemption under the new Ivory Act and is legal to sell. We are happy for the registration number (QDVLYF6D) to be checked with the Animal & Plant Health Agency.

Georgian, George III, Scottish silver tea service of half fluted form with elaborate handle styling and gadrooned rims. Each piece features a contemporary monogram of JAR, or IAR, and is raised upon four ball feet. The teapot handle features ivory insulators.

Condition is excellent with light surface wear commensurate with age. 

Each piece is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1811 by James McKay.

Approximate weight for all three pieces is 1.318 kilos or 42 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are:

Teapot: 28.5 cm length, 14 cm depth and 17 cm height.

Sugar: 21 cm length, 12.5 cm depth and 12.5 cm height.

Creamer: 15 cm length, 9 cm depth and 11 cm height.
