Georgian, George III, silver gilt meat tray and meat dish. Of oval form, featuring reeded and ribbon raised borders and crests.
The purchaser will receive a detailed report concerning the crest. It relates to the marital arms of Leveson-Gower and Sutherland.
Condition is excellent with no splits, dents or creases. The gilt is quite worn and there are scratch marks to the bases, as you would expect from carving meat. Surface wear commensurate with age.
Each is hallmarked for London 1785 by James Young.
The approximate total weight for both items is 3.851 kilos (2.199 kilos and 1.652 kilos) or 123.8 troy ounces.
