Georgian, George II, silver cup and cover. Of plain form with acanthus capped twin scroll handles and a reeded girdle. The cup sits on a spreading pedestal foot.
In excellent original condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. No apparent erasures. Small inscription to the underisde of the base.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1746 by Richard Gurney & Thomas Cook. The inside of the cup is also hallmarked as silver for London 1746.
Approximate weight is 2.417 kilos or 77.7 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 34 cm height, 30 cm handle to handle length and 17.5 cm diameter.
