Description

An antique early Victorian gold mourning brooch.  Gold mount, testing as 9ct with gold scroll design on top of a black enamelled front with a raised motif floral decoration set with seed pearls.  There's an unidentified tiny green stone set in the centre of one of the pearl flowers, the other has a small rose diamond set to the centre. The reverse shows a lock of woven hair encased in glass. No hallmarks, but tests as gold and engraving on the reverse reads 'S & J Sadler died Sept 19th 1850'. In original fitted box.  Measuring 60mm x 53mm.  Gross weight 41.6g.
