An absolutely stunning Elizabethan period solid brass alms dish showing the profile of the roman orator /politician Cicero.
This dish which dates to circa 1550-1600 AD, shows the remains of a worn latin inscription and is inscribed with Cicero name.
Used to collect alms, this dish would have been accompanied by an alms bowl with the same design , now sadly separated.
A wonderful item with a truly remarkably colour and patina.
A rare opportunity to acquire a fabulous item in stunning condition..
