A fabulous quality solid silver tetradrachm coin of Alexander the Great.
This item which dates to circa 336 -323 BC, is in lovely condition.
It shows the head of Alexander with a lions skin Headdress, on the obverse side ,
whilst the reverse shows the God Zeus on a throne with a sea eagle.
This coin also carries a small X mark to the headdress, which is a moneyers test mark
made at the time of Alexander to test the quality of the silver.
A lovely quality coin on a thick flan with good weight.
Size 2.6 CM in Dia.
Ex .Private collection.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
