A very nice quality Tudor period ,carved oak figure of the madonna .

This item which dates to circa 16th century AD, is a rare survivor of the period.

Typically the pegged hands are missing, as the people attending church would steal them as a blessed holy relic to bring good luck and fortune.

Lovely colour and patination to the wood...
