A massively rare to find Danubian Celtic decorated lead shrine plaque.
This item which dates to circa 2nd -3rd century AD , is in wonderful allover condition.
It is richly decorated with a goddess and standing figures and in the lower portion a large chalice with Lion
and snake.
Dating from the period of Roman occupation the iconography is truly wonderful and without a doubt this would have been one section of several.
Likely relating to a warrior cult within Celtic society of the period...
