The Napoleonic Wars & The Holy Alliance, A 19th Century Horn Snuff Box with Gilt Metal Relief Portrait Profiles of Franz I, Alexander I and Friedrich Wilhelm III.
The Holy Alliance was formed in Paris in 1815, following the final defeat of Napoleon, while negotiating the Second Peace of Paris. The founders of the Alliance were Franz I of Austria, Alexander I of Russia and Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia. It was designed to promote Christian principles in the affairs of nations.
In good condition with no loss or damage to the relief gilt metal cover. One area of loss to the rim of the horn cover and one to the face of the horn cover (photos 5 & 7).
