A Framed and Glazed Pressed Brass Relief Plaque for the Launch of HMS King George V in 1939. Housed within a rope twist gilded frame.
During World War Two HMS KIng George V operated in all three major naval theatres of war, Atlantic, Pacific & Mediterranean. She was involved in the hunt for the Bismark, inflicting severe damage, which led to her sinking.
The frame itself is in very good condition with higher wear to the corners. The back of the frame shows the card backing to the brass relief. The relief plaque is in very good condition with one feint vertical line showing near the bow of the ship. This has the appearance of a very light depression.
Approximate weight is 715 grams.
