Known as the "Genin" watch because Dr. Abraham Genin, a Soviet aerospace medical researcher, strapped his own watch to the dog Chernuska (Blackie) prior to the dog's test flight in Sputnik 4 on March 9th 1961 in preparation for Yuri Gagarin's first manned space flight in Vostok 1 one month later on April 12th 1961.
