Victorian Silver Coffee Pot. Of plain cylindrical form with a band of finely chased detail. The cover with flush hinge and disc shape finial.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1860 by John Samuel Hunt (of Hunt & Roskell). Further part hallmarked to the inside of the cover.
John Samuel Hunt was an important silversmith, being Paul Storr's nephew and chaser. In 1826 he joined the firm of Storr & Mortimer, giving them a cash injection. This firm later became Mortimer & Hunt when Paul Storr retired. In 1843 the firm became Hunt & Roskell, where they became silversmiths & jewellers to Queen Victoria and European nobility.
In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age.
