This letter opener is a clever piece of modern re-cycling/re-purposing.
The handle is a silver handle from an old cutlery set. It is fully hallmarked for Sheffield, 1924, and the maker Harrison Fisher & Co. The hallmarks are worn, but still quite readable.
The opener's blade is a new steel blade that has been securely married to the handle.
The letter opener's handle measures 8.6 cm (3.4") long. The blade adds a further 11.8 cm (4.6") to the length.
All measurements are approximate.
The letter opener is not presented in any relevant packaging.
