This silver card case features a cut foliate design, front and back, with a blank shield shape cartouche. The case is suspended on a silver chain with finger carrying loop.
The card case is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1918, and the makers William Henry Sparrow. The lid to the card case also carries a partial set of silver hallmarks and the chain/loop carries the lion silver standard mark.
William Henry Sparrow operated from Spencer Street, Birmingham.
The card case measures 9.5 cm (3.7") by 6.7 cm (2.6") by .8 cm (.3"). It weighs 73 grams.
All measurements are approximate.
The case is in good condition. The lid hinge operates well, and the lid is a good fit. There is a slight depression line diagonally across the back which we have attempted to show in the photographs.
