1960/70's Soviet Russian Rolex ! ?
In 1947 the Russian government opened the Molnija (Lightning) watch factory in Chelyabinsk after approaching the then major Swiss watch manufacturer Corterbert seeking assistance in expanding watch manufacturing in Russia. Corterbert supplied tooling and machinery for their 15 jewel cal. 616 pocket watch movement which they also supplied to Rolex (cal.3646) who in turn supplied Panerai for their Italian Navy dive watches and railroad watches. In Russia it was branded as the Molnija cal.3602. Now out of production this watch has the 18 jewel version of that movement. This watch has been fully restored and is in excellent condition. Complete with a see through case back and black leather crocodile pattern strap.
This watch is for sale on-line only though a similar watch is available in the Antiques Centre.
