Lalique perfume bottle for "L'air du Temps" perfume by Nina Ricci.
The L'air du Temps design features a stopper of two frosted kissing doves on a twisted ridged bottle body.
The original design for the "L'Air du Temps" perfume bottle was by the sculptor Jean Rebull, and was in the shape of a sun. But it was Marc Lalique who produced the iconic two doves atop a swirling ribbed body version, as presented here, for Nina Ricci. It was first produced in 1951 … Incidentally, Marc Lalique was friends with Nina Ricci's son Robert.
The base of the bottle is block capitals etched "Nina Ricci" and "Lalique bottle".
The perfume bottle stands 10.5 cm (4") tall including the stopper. The stopper measures 10 cm (4") across the wingspan. All measurements are approximate
The perfume bottle is in very good condition. There minute grazing to the base of the stopper - it can be felt more than it can be seen. The bottle is presented in its original box which has just one or two age related stains.
