Japanese Edo period (18th century) 4 case lacquered Inro, decorated with Samurai warriors engaged in battle, in red, gold and black. The Inro is complete with securing bead and polychrome carved wood figure Netsuke.
This item was originally in the collection of Richard Some Jenyns, Keeper of the Oriental section of the British Museum in the 1950's.
