Nigel Creed started as an apprentice ceramic artist with Royal Worcester where he trained under Edward Townsend (who started at Royal Worcester in 1918 and stayed there until he retired in 1971).
After leaving Royal Worcester around 1990, Nigel subsequently worked for Kingsley enamels, Moorcroft enamels and Elliot Hall enamels. He also undertakes freelance work, and this piece is one of these.

The plate measures approximately 21 cm (8.25") in diameter.
The plate is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. These a small amount of wear to the edge gilding.
