This plate is decorated with fruit, hand painted by the artist Leighton Maybury.
Leighton was a Royal Worcester trained decorator/artist. He worked at Royal Worcester until the early 1950s, when he became a freelance artist/decorator. His work was varied and included not only "Fruit" designs, but also birds, horses, landscapes and portraiture.
Leighton died in March 2013, aged 83.
This post Royal Worcester plate is signed "Leighton" to the front, and carries Leighton's initials on the back.
The plate measures approximately 23.5 cm (9.25") in diameter.
The plate is in good condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration to the china.
There are some minute grazes to the painting, around the inner section rim.
