This lidded vase is decorated with fruit, hand painted by artist Derek Wilson.
The vase is signed.
The vase is made of bone china.
Derek started as an apprentice decorator/artist with Royal Worcester in the 1950s.
He formed the company "Dunheved" along with his partner Sheila Whitcombe (a Royal Worcester modeller) when they left Worcester and moved to Cornwall.
Derek now normally concentrates on wildlife portraits ... Sheila specialises in flowers.
This lidded vase carries the backstamp "Edwardian fine bone china". We are not sure if this company just provided the blank china, or whether Derek occasionally did freelance work for them.
The vase measures approximately 8 cm (3.25") at its widest (10 cm/4" including the handles), by 16 cm (6.25") tall including the lid.
The vase is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration.
There is some light surface scratching noted to the pedestal foot gilding.
