Georgian, George III, pair of silver entree dishes and covers. Of curved rectangular form with gadrooned decoration. The covers feature the crest of a dexter arm in armour, grasping a dagger. The handles are fixed to the covers by means of a screw thread.
In excellent order with surface wear commensurate with age and for their use as serving dishes. The undersides of the dishes have some heat marks, most probably from warming stands. One crest is ever so slightly obscured when the handle is in position. This appears to be due to the engraver not siting the crest correctly.
Hallmarked for London 1806/07 by John Edwards III. The handles are Old Sheffield Plate and are marked 3 and *3 to match the relevant cover and dish.
Approximate total silver weight of both dishes and covers is 3.2 kilos or 102.8 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions of one are 30.5 cm length, 22.5 cm width and 12 cm height.
