Fabulous, monumental, early 20th century, French Bronze sculpture entitled ‘La Vendangeuse’ by Henri-Desiré Gauquié (1858-1927). Modelled in 1905 as a young woman carrying a large basket of grapes over her shoulder, adjusting the strap and watching as the grapes are falling at her feet.
Cast by Ferdinand Barbedienne, with appropriate foundry mark and signature.
Very good condition overall, some age related wear to high points, minor blemish to forearm visible on close inspection, presents beautifully.
