RARE CHRISTOPHER HEAL 1950S MIDCENTURY SIDEBOARD HEALS VINTAGE ROBIN DAY ERA
We have 1 in stock.
An exceptionally rare sideboard designed by Christopher Heal for Heals in 1951.
Made from a combination of beautiful exotic Kevasinga, a type of African rosewood, and highly polished dark Mahogany this piece was selected in 1952 as part of the Heals 'suite of the year'.
An absolutely stunning piece with a cocktail cupboard, slide over double door cupboard, a bank of three drawers to the right and a further pair of drawers above the cupboard.
With Christopher Heal at the time being the Head Of Design at Heals, Grandson of Ambrose Heal and future Chairman of Heals this piece is an excellent example of British midcentury design and could be an excellent investment.
Good vintage condition. The highly polished top retains a wonderful glossy finish. The timbers elsewhere are in good order.
There are some signs of age and previous use such as a few of small veneer nicks and indentations (see photos). The previous owner has modified the lock so that it is just decorative, doesn't affect the door so can be left or if you prefer replaced.
Considering its age this sideboard is doing very well. This piece looks stunning. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for immediate use.
188cm long, 40cm deep at deepest point and 83cm high.
