Description
A British Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) Officer's Dress Sword circa 1870. The Single knucklebone guard with quillon and upturned clamshell guard is of brass and retains virtually all of its gilding.The guard has a silver flaming grenade as its motif. the straight double edged blade bears the makers name and is with inset brass proof mark. It is engraved for over 50% of its length on both sides and bears the HAC monogram and emblem. c/w sword knot. The scabbard is of black leather with gilt brass fittings and twin suspension rings.
