This rare Banff Scottish provincial silver teaspoon was made by William Simpson I.
The spoon's finial has been engraved "GEM".
The masking spoon carries the mark, struck three times, for William, but no other marks.
William Simpson I is known to have worked in Banff c1810-1840.
The teaspoon is in good condition, with just minor age related wear.
The teaspoon measures 13.5 cm (5.3") long, and weighs 13g.
