Description
Very rare Art Deco French bronze deskset with integral sliding bookends featuring figures of a young boy and girl faun by the renowned artist Paul Silvestre (1884-1976) with inkwells designed by Maurice Delannoy (1885-1972) produced by the most prestigious Paris foundry of Susse Freres. Both Fauns are inscribed ‘Silvestre’ and ‘Susse frs edts Paris’ and both inkwells are inscribed ‘Delannoy sclp’ and ‘Susse frs edts Paris.’ On verde antico marble base, pen recess in front of the bookends. c1925 53.5cm x 19.5cm x 14.5cm Period style: Art Deco (circa 1915 – 1935) Dimension: 53.5cm x 19.5cm x 14.5cm Item location: At Home
