An antique or vintage cameo brooch with also a bail allowing it to be worn as a pendant.
The soft features, apparent carving marks, dome shape (rather than flat) and the signature on the back of the cameo suggests it is a genuine carved shell cameo.
The cameo is mounted in a silver tone mount. The mount is not hallmarked or stamped hence is described as silver tone metal.
The brooch has a 'push-pull' trombone fastener. This type of fastener was introduced in Europe in the mid to late 1800's but was also widely used in the 1940's. Some designers did use them at later dates.
Nb The trombone fastener is 'push-pull' and is not spring loaded. The resistance of clothing is relied on to maintain the pin in position however care should be taken that the pin does not become loose, particularly if worn as a pendant.
The brooch is in very good overall condition given its age.
