An Anglo Saxon Bronze Girdle Hanger.reference no SN10458
A very rare and seldom seen anglo saxon bronze girdle hanger.
This item which shows excellent decoration and casting would date to circa 5th-7th century AD.
It had symbolic status in so much as it was ment to represent a latch lifter which is a crude style of key.
It was very much like coming of age to show that a women had reached maturity . (keys to the door)
Very rare with stunning overall patina to thd metal.
Norfolk excavations in thd 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
