A very rare and seldom seen stuart period solid silver ladies sewing bodkin.
This item which dates to circa 1620-40, is in stunning allover condition.
It has a wonderful patination to the silver and is complimented by having the original owners initials A.D inscribed on the body as shown, together with a very small accorn finial mount to the end portion.
These items were used by ladies to thread ribbon and lace onto their garments to give them a different appearance.
Ex. Lincolnshire excavation and collection from the early 1970s .
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and display box.
