A very good quality solid silver shipwreck coin .This item which is called a silver cob was cut from a silver bar and stamped on the obverse and reverse sides,and dates to circa 1729-1739 AD. It was recovered from the shipwreck of the dutch east- indiaman Rooswijk which sank on the goodwin sands in england in december 1739 .
