A very rare and seldom seen roman military bronze four headed brooch.
This item which dates to circa the 2nd century AD, is in excellent allover condition.
It shows four beasts heads ( possibly mythical creatures) or possibly even very crude representations of horses heads. They are known to have been worn by Germanic mercenaries serving in the roman army and as such makes them very rare.
It is complete with its original fastening pin and catchplate and is further enhanced by a dark green patination to the bronze.
Lincolnshire excavations in 1977.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
