A very fine quality and seldom seen , roman cavalry bronze horses headed belt mount.
This item which dates to circa 1st -2nd century AD, is in stunning allover condition.
It would have been mounted on a waist belt or strap by way of a belt slide to the rear and likely have been one of four that would have marked the owner as a mounted cavalry trooper.
Size 5.0 CM in Length.
Excavations in County Durham in 1973.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
