An antique orange lustre vase by William Moorcroft.
The height is 118mm.
There are impressed MOORCROFT, BURSLEM, ENGLAND and shape identification number backstamps on the base which dates the vase to c1916-c1918. The shape identification number on the base is also an impressed mark.
After William Moorcroft left the James Macintyre works he set up his own factory at Cobridge on the outskirts of Burslem in 1913. This vase is therefore from the very early days of Moorcroft pottery and a genuine antique.
