Pomegranate became Moorcroft's most successful design and continued to be produced until the latter part of the 1930's with design updates along the way.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eOn the base of this vase there are MOORCROFT, BURSLEM, ENGLAND and shape identification back stamps (all impressed) which allows a date assessment of c1916-c1918 to be made. There is also William Moorcroft's full signature in green.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eThis footed bowl then is from the very early days of Moorcroft pottery and a genuine antique.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eWhen the shape of the bowl, the size, the pattern and the date are combined this bowl is quite a rare item. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eThere is a great deal of content in the design with five closed and one open pomegranate, grapes and foliage on a dark blue ground. Little wonder the pomegranate design was and remains so popular. (For clarification the ground is dark blue and not black).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eThe vase has been closely inspected and is in excellent antique condition. The colours remain bright and on the blue ground make for a very attractive item, which displays beautifully. The inner bottom surface has a few very faint scratch marks and an over glazed pimple which is quite remarkable given objects may have been placed in it over the last 100 plus years.
