A very fine medieval period, decorated lead Pilgrims holy water ampulla. This item which dates to circa15th century AD,has good decoration in the form of a scallop shell design on one side and a faint W to the reverse, standing for the shrine at walsingham.

These items were purchased by Pilgrims and filled with holy water by monks and then blessed.A rare survivor from the holy shrine at walsingham.
Found in excavations in Norfolk in 1971.

As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
