An absolutely stunning late stuart / early georgian period repousse pewter alms plate. This piece which dates to 1690-1740 AD, is hand chased and hammered to give the raised repousse effect.

The subject matter is one of classical antiquity, and that is of Alexander The Great's victory over Darrius 111 king of babylon in 330BC.

In wonderful allover condition with two faint makers marks to the reverse and a lovely dark glossy patina to the metal, built up over several centuries of use.

As with all of my antiquities and antiques this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
